STRESS RELAXATION

Loading muscles and tendons with long, max effort isometric holds helps balance the tissues around the TMJ and reduce the risk of muscle tears. It can also increase overall tendon health and thickness.

Stress Relaxation involves a series of max-effort isometric holds of between 10- and 30-seconds against a fixed load that targets the muscles around the injured tendon—with 2-minutes of rest between efforts. Sessions should be separated by at least 6 hours to restore tissue response.
